About The Position

BAE Systems is seeking a full-time Technical Manual Developer II to join the Logistics Team for Combat Mission Systems in Sterling Heights, Michigan. This role involves developing technical manuals and related documentation for combat vehicles, ensuring accurate and accessible information for maintenance and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have experience in military or defense environments, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience in a military or defense environment, or an Associate's degree and 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of vehicle platform maintenance and Logistics Management Information (LMI).
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience writing operator and maintenance manuals to Military Standards.
  • Experience working on government contracts and with third-party vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Develop technical manuals and related documentation for combat vehicles.
  • Review existing RPSTL and technical manuals for accuracy and improvements.
  • Work directly with vendors to obtain technical data for manual production.
  • Support the development of Logistics Management Information (LMI) products.
  • Participate in Logistics Test Events to validate and verify product content.
  • Provide feedback on maintenance support and diagnostics for combat vehicles.
  • Attend program meetings to provide platform knowledge and develop relationships with stakeholders.
  • Influence vehicle system designs to improve supportability and integration of Logistics products.
