About The Position

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Technical Officer - REMOTE. This role is critical in supporting the mission to improve the environment through rigorous carbon accounting and verification practices. The individual will engage in project reviews and maintain project records, while also ensuring compliance with established standards and methodologies. The position requires a strong technical foundation in GHG emissions and the ability to collaborate with key stakeholders. You'll contribute to the ongoing effectiveness of carbon credit initiatives within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or advanced degree in environmental sciences, engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years relevant experience for Technical Officer; minimum of 6 years for Technical Manager.
Familiarity with GHG emissions/carbon accounting principles and industrial sector project types.
Proficiency in SharePoint, Outlook, and MS Office suite.
Strong writing skills and fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
Strong technical and analytical skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Perform routine and increasingly complex GHG emissions reduction and removal project reviews accurately and efficiently.
Provide consistent technical support to external stakeholders related to project implementation and verification.
Develop and maintain systems for project record keeping and regulatory guidance tracking.
Attend site visits and perform audits, as assigned.
Support technical team and ACR objectives by developing templates and internal policies.
Manage relationships with external stakeholders and mentor junior staff (if applicable).
Represent the organization externally in working groups and conferences.
