About The Position

The Technical Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of technical services and show production in multiple venues. The Manager will serve as primary point of contact for an Artist or Band’s Production Manager/Agent in designing, building and operating a show. The position will lead the technical team of several lounge and showroom venues, providing leadership, direction and guidance. The Technical Manager is a high-profile position within the Entertainment team.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in live entertainment, either in venue operations and / or touring.
  • Experience interacting with Artist Talent, Producers, Production Managers and upper-level management, or industry equivalent.
  • Management experience and supervisory skills are a plus
  • Expertise in managing operating systems including lifts, rigging, lighting and sound
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Familiar with cloud-based collaborative team work-flow
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Oracle, UKG and FileMaker Pro are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary production and technical point-of-contact for several venues, including ticketed shows and non-ticketed events
  • Oversee any load-in / load-out schedules as well as any production-related needs.
  • Schedule and supervise all production crew required for the proper presentation of the show, including all work calls
  • Be on-site and available for shows at venues supervising any/all production-related elements and assist with FOH operations
  • Serve as key point of contact for all inquiries related to production / technical needs at the venue
  • Maintain venue technical manuals, reviewing and updating as necessary
  • Ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of all venue technical equipment
  • Develop training plans and standardized venue SOP’s
  • Ensure compliance with Venue’s union contract for collective bargaining
  • Continually seek improvements in operations and production management standards through learnings and, where possible, best-in-class industry practices and trends
  • Compile relevant expense and financial information for reporting on post-show settlement, budgeting, reimbursement and/or AP
  • Responsible for weekly payroll for technicians (UKG & FileMaker)
  • Responsible for weekly and month end labor reporting to Entertainment Settlements Team
  • Generate a weekly scheduling for technicians, and third-party labor required to run the venues
  • Cross-functional cooperation with other technical leaders on planning and other related issues
  • Other projects as assigned by the Entertainment Director and Technical Director
  • Lead organization with methods and actions that are ethical and in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Company policies.
  • Identify compliance risks and take actions necessary to eliminate or minimize risks
  • Champion, within the organization, a commitment to honesty, integrity, and responsible corporate behavior
  • Create a compliance culture within the organization and foster an environment where employees feel comfortable reporting potential violations or misconduct
  • Design standard operating procedures for communication and department organization
