Within Qnity, the Engineering Science and Analytical organization plays a critical enterprise role by providing trusted scientific insight, advanced analytical capabilities, and strong partnerships that enable business results globally. Role Overview The Technical Manager – Wilmington Leveraged Analytical Sciences (LAS) is a people‑centered, enterprise‑minded leader responsible for guiding the Wilmington LAS organization and leading a team of approximately 22 analytical scientists. The team provides advanced analytical chemistry and measurement science support to all Qnity businesses globally. This role combines purposeful people leadership, technical excellence, and strategic alignment to ensure analytical capabilities are effectively leveraged to accelerate innovation, support Manufacturing Technology (MT), and deliver measurable business impact across Qnity’s portfolio.

Requirements

  • PhD in a science or engineering discipline with a minimum of 5 years of industrial experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Non-PhD candidates with relevant industrial experience will also be considered.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Familiarity with analytical chemistry tools and methods.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Wilmington Leveraged Analytical Sciences organization with a strong focus on people development, safety, ethics, and inclusion, consistent with Qnity leadership expectations.
  • Create an environment where employees are engaged, coached, and empowered to grow professionally while delivering high‑quality technical outcomes.
  • Ensure the Wilmington LAS team provides timely, high‑impact analytical and measurement science solutions that directly support global business priorities.
  • Act as a visible, accountable leader in Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S), quality, and compliance, reinforcing Qnity’s commitment to operational excellence.
  • Build strong, collaborative partnerships with Business, R&D, and Manufacturing Technology leaders to enable effective decision‑making and execution.
  • Drive the strategic evolution of analytical capabilities, aligning investments, skills, and technologies with future business needs.
  • Lead and contribute to enterprise initiatives spanning operational excellence, digital enablement, capability development, and laboratory strategy.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and constructive challenge, encouraging diverse perspectives and cross‑site collaboration.
  • Communicate clearly and transparently with stakeholders, ensuring analytical insights and outcomes are well understood and appropriately documented.
  • Manage complexity by prioritizing work, removing barriers, and enabling teams to succeed in a multi‑project, global environment.
  • Establish and maintain effective partnerships with external analytical providers, ensuring quality, performance, and value through disciplined contract management.
