The Technical Leader for Frontend/FullStack Engineering within Cisco's Security Innovation team is responsible for leading the development of security policies and applications for Cisco Hypershield. This role involves influencing senior executives and customers, driving API development, micro frontend integrations, and UI development, while solving complex problems and innovating new technologies in the security domain.

  • Serve as team leader to write high quality, production ready code, reinventing security.
  • Proactively identify and participate in the resolution of complex problems that impact the direction of the business.
  • Develop and deliver innovative strategies that benefit customers and/or clients.
  • Lead the development and implementation of software development life cycle and agile engineering strategies across applicable teams.
  • Represent or present team outputs at external events.
  • Negotiate and drive tradeoffs in timing design and specifications to meet the needs of users and cross functional partners.
  • Lead, mentor and influence other engineering team members, serving as a subject matter expert in firewalls, secure web gateways, and/or SASE/SSE.
  • 8+ years of professional programming experience with Javascript, CSS, React, Node.js, Angular.js or similar frameworks.
  • Experience with building microservices in public cloud.
  • Experience with API development methodologies such as RESTful or gRPC.
  • Development experience in a Linux environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Significant Full stack engineering experience preferred.
  • Experience working alongside UX/UI Design, backend engineers, product management and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Background in network security, protocols and policies (e.g. firewalls, secure web gateways, etc.).
  • Secure development nuances token management, authentication, RBAC, etc.
  • Knowledgeable of CI/CD processes, containerization and deployment to public-cloud environments such as AWS.
  • Experience leading development teams and being a mentor to other developers.
