About The Position

Application Development & Maintenance contributes to Cardinal Health Information Technology oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value. Application Development & Maintenance performs configuration or coding to develop, enhance and sustain the organization's software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices. This job family programs and configures end user applications, systems, databases and websites to achieve the organization's internal needs and externally-facing business needs. Application Development & Maintenance partners with business leaders, investigates user needs and conducts regular assessments, maintenance and enhancements of existing applications.

Requirements

  • 8-12 years of experience, preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
  • Background in Transportation and Logistics preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in designing and leading technical solutions at the enterprise level.
  • Hands-on experience with custom application development.
  • Proficiency in Angular, Java (Springboot), PCF (Pivotal Cloud Foundry) or GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine), GCP, Mongo DB.
  • Proven ability to support and build multi-system integrations (Boomi, Kafka, EDI).
  • Familiarity with SAP ERP systems (a plus, not required).
  • Familiarity with Application Life cycle management tools like JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and define integration solutions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and deliver both short- and long-term solutions (Splunk, Dynatrace).
  • Experience defining data preparation and testing strategies.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead IT projects in the Medical Transportation and Management space within Medical Supply Chain Management.
  • Design and implement solutions in the Medical Transportation and Freight Audit areas.
  • Serve as a dedicated IT partner for Medical Transportation business teams.
  • Partner with other IT teams in the organization as needed.
  • Operate within the Medical - US Transportation business.
  • Partner with key players to map out end-to-end business workflows and align them with technical solutions.
  • Facilitate technical solution options/feasibility along with estimations of implementing proposed solutions.
  • Review and approve technical designs and specifications for all developments, considering performance requirements, impact to existing solutions, and long-term sustainability and scalability.
  • Experience working with third-party vendors and managing relationships.
  • Skilled in refining initiatives into technical stories and coaching development teams.
  • Conducting code reviews and providing technical guidance to developers.
