About The Position

We are seeking a Molecular Technical Supervisor to provide technical oversight for high-complexity molecular diagnostic testing in a regulated clinical laboratory environment. This role is responsible for ensuring assay performance, regulatory compliance, quality systems, and staff competency. The ideal candidate holds a Master’s or PhD in a scientific discipline, has direct experience in clinical molecular diagnostics, and is comfortable owning validations, quality processes, and day-to-day technical oversight.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or PhD in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Microbiology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related scientific field
• 3–5+ years experience in a high-complexity clinical molecular diagnostics laboratory
• Hands-on experience with: PCR-based assays and molecular LDTs
• Validation and verification studies
• QC, PT, and regulatory documentation
• Working knowledge of CLIA technical supervisor responsibilities
• Strong organizational, documentation, and leadership skills

Responsibilities

• Serve as Technical Supervisor for high-complexity molecular testing under CLIA
• Oversee and approve: Assay validations and verifications
• Quality control and proficiency testing programs
• SOP development and maintenance
• Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP (if applicable), and state regulations
• Train, assess, and provide technical oversight to molecular laboratory staff
• Troubleshoot assay performance, instrumentation, and workflow issues
• Support internal and external audits, inspections, and corrective actions
• Collaborate with laboratory leadership on test menu expansion and optimization
