Leidos is seeking a summer intern with a System Engineering background to support the SMIT contract, which is the largest IT services program for the Navy. The intern will assist in delivering core services for the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI), focusing on cybersecurity, network operations, service desk, and data transport. The role involves working with a remote team to develop requirements, architecture, and testing artifacts, while also supporting Linux, Windows, and database solutions for the NMCI network.

  • Work with a geographically distributed remote team to define and develop requirements, architecture/design, and testing artifacts.
  • Assist in the design and development of SysML diagrams including block definition diagrams, internal block diagrams, and activity diagrams.
  • Support informal and formal peer-reviews.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with management and other engineering disciplines.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and streamline existing processes.
  • Gather insight and analyze model elements and patterns to enhance team productivity.
  • Participate in meetings to foster continuous improvement in model deliverables.
  • Learn and apply best practices in MBSE methodologies.
  • Enrolled in BS Systems Engineering or equivalent engineering program at college/university as a Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior level.
  • Motivated individuals eager to learn, grow, and contribute.
  • Independent thinkers ready to gain real-world and hands-on experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • US Citizenship status required.
