Requirements

  • Candidates must be enrolled in a degree or certification program at one of the following institutions: Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Butler County Community College, Montgomery County Community College, Penn Highlands Community College, and Westmoreland County Community College.

  • Candidates must be enrolled in an undergraduate program relating to Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a similar discipline as a Sophomore or Junior.
  • Candidates must have an interest in pursuing a career within the US Department of Defense or Defense Industrial Base.
  • Candidates must have excellent organizational, communication and planning skills.
  • Candidates must have a basic understanding of fundamental cybersecurity principles such as confidentiality, integrity, and availability, as well as basic networking concepts and computer system fundamentals.
  • Candidates must have the ability to alternate between working independently and collaborating closely with diverse technical teams to create innovative technical solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Work on a multi-disciplined team, preferably one that is involved in many areas of research, testing, and development.
  • Basic-level cybersecurity-related workforce certification such as Security+, Network+, A+, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Analysis, design, development, testing and deployment of cybersecurity solutions spanning commercial, open-source, cloud-native, and custom-built formats.
  • Containerized cyber application development and test using DevSecOps in Git-based agile software development environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML).
  • MultiCloud-to-Edge, Edge-to-Edge node, hybrid cloud, and on-premises evaluation of cyber tools, system operations, protection of assets, and advanced networking techniques.
  • Ensuring compliance with cybersecurity regulations, standards, and best practices to maintain a robust security posture and mitigate potential risks.
