About The Position

PSEG is looking for a Summer 2026 (Technical) Intern for the Outside Plant Distribution Asset Management (Electric) group. This job involves working as a(n) intern in the group to review, maintain, and develop the standards, methods, and materials used in the Outside Plant Electric Distribution areas of PSE&G service territory. As well as providing of oversight and analysis of performance and reliability of associated assets to support project and program justification and planning. This position will be Hybrid Flexible Intern will be required to travel to several PSE&G locations throughout the state during the internship program.

Requirements

  • The successful incumbent(s) must be actively pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited institution in Engineering and graduating between December 2026 and May 2029.
  • Students graduating in May/June 2026 are not eligible unless they are enrolling in a post-graduate degree program in the fall term of 2026. PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. Incumbents must have completed sophomore level course work for consideration.
  • Because this position will require traveling to various PSEG locations, a valid driver's license and a safe driving record is required.
  • Department of Energy's regulation 10 CFR 810 is required.

Nice To Haves

  • 3.0 GPA
  • Rising Junior or Senior Pursuing a specialization in either Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil engineering.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills (i.e. Excel, Word, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Data analysis for the reliability and possible improvement of equipment through the use of new and different methods and technology for Outside Plant Electric Distribution.
  • Infrastructure Advancement and Last Mile Initiatives and Programs.
  • Updating and Developing specifications, standards, and processes for new and existing Equipment.
  • Reviewing internal processes for efficiencies and improvements.
  • Assisting asset experts with day to day requests and failure/fault analysis.
