About The Position

KBR’s National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to our customers in the intelligence and national security communities. In this position, your work will have a profound impact on the country’s most critical role – protecting our national security. KBR is seeking a Technical Intelligence Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Modeling & Simulation to join a team of quantitative analysts and modelers dedicated to conduct modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) of emerging concepts for the Defense Advanced Projects Research Agency (DARPA) using advanced MS&A techniques and tools and to support further enhancement thereof. This role is at the nexus of defense intelligence, military systems analysis, and computational modeling, enabling high-fidelity representations of real-world forces, capabilities, and behaviors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 10 years of relevant experience, or Master's Degree with 8 years of relevant experience
  • Deep familiarity with U.S. and non-U.S. military organizations, platforms, and systems (air, land, maritime, space, cyber, or multi-domain).
  • Experience supporting modeling & simulation, wargaming, force analysis, or systems analysis efforts.
  • Demonstrated ability to structure unclassified and classified intelligence into data-driven, model-ready formats.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including briefing senior technical and government audiences.
  • TS/SCI is required for this role.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in International Security, Engineering, Data Science, Systems Engineering, Military Studies, or a related field, with 12 years of relevant experience
  • Prior experience supporting DARPA, DoD R&D, FFRDCs, or defense labs.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML-enabled modeling, digital engineering, or synthetic environments.
  • Experience developing or working with order of battle (OOB) databases, force posture models, or equipment catalogs.
  • Knowledge of ontologies, data schemas, or knowledge graphs in a defense or intelligence context.

Responsibilities

  • Support the collection, curation, validation, and structuring of information and/or technical intelligence related to US, allied, and adversary military organizations, systems, and equipment for use in advanced analytical, simulation, and AI-supported environments.
  • Collect, curate, and maintain authoritative datasets describing military organizations, force structures, platforms, weapons systems, sensors, C2 architectures, and operational capabilities across U.S., allied, and adversary forces.
  • Translate data from OSINT, IC reporting, foreign military studies, technical assessments, and technical military system and organizational materials into structured, model-ready formats.
  • Define system attributes, performance parameters, constraints, and behaviors relevant to mission- and engagement-level simulations.
  • Ensure intelligence data is traceable, validated, and annotated for use in modeling and simulation environments.
  • Support the development of taxonomies, ontologies, and schemas for representing military entities and interactions.
  • Advise on assumptions, uncertainties, and intelligence gaps that affect simulation outcomes.
  • Provide expert input on threat evolution, emerging military technologies, and future force concepts.
  • Brief program leadership, DARPA PMs, and government stakeholders on intelligence-driven insights and modeling implications.
  • Contribute to white papers, technical reports, and program deliverables.
