We are currently hiring a Technical Fellow in Mechanical Engineering to join the Advanced Airframes Department of the Hardware Engineering organization located in Tucson, AZ.

  • Support a variety of development efforts and ensure technical rigor in mechanical design.
  • Support all development phases including mechanical design architecture, development execution, qualification, and transition to production.
  • Partner with program and functional leadership for all Mechanical Non-Recurring and Recurring tasks.
  • Ensure all Mechanical related scopes across the programs are executed per program plan with a cohesive technical approach.
  • Provide technical execution leadership required to design, develop, integrate & test, verify, qualify and deliver mechanical systems.
  • Communicate program status, accomplishments, issues, and help needed to Raytheon leadership and customer community.
  • Contribute to developing and aligning execution strategies and implementing best practices across the organization.
  • Support the development maturation of emerging technologies to deliver a production ready design.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance across the organization.
  • Design, research, and develop advanced technology applications to support new product and/or business opportunities.
  • A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree and minimum 10 years' experience.
  • 12 years of prior relevant experience within the field of airframe mechanical design and missile structures.
  • Experience in Missile All Up Round (AUR) design and/or production.
  • Experience with hypersonic airframe architecture and/or environment derivations.
  • Experience applying design for manufacturing principles and/or life cycle serviceability.
  • Experience with air carried platform mechanical integration.
  • Experience managing teams in a technical capacity.
  • Minimum of one required in the last 10 years: Patent (IRC Approved, patent filed, or patent issued) and Technical Publications.
  • Active Top Secret Clearance (Department of Defense).
  • Experience with leading development and maintenance across multiple program sites.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Extensive experience in mechanical task leadership and Airframe mechanical design.
  • Cost Account Manager experience.
  • Program Management certification or experience.
  • Experience with Scrum at Scale.
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering.
  • Excellent presentation and proposal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, or related discipline.
