About The Position

This position is designed to enhance the skills and training of the bargaining unit workforce in the Electrical Department. It involves hands-on collaboration with Silver Bell electricians to facilitate knowledge transfer and implement best practices in electrical maintenance. The role focuses on instructing and training employees while ensuring safety and compliance with environmental health and safety standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the mining industry
• Extensive hands-on experience and knowledge of AC/DC systems, drives, and electric shovels
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals
• Thorough understanding of troubleshooting tools and practices
• Teaching and mentoring capabilities
• Manual dexterity and an eye for detail
• Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of mathematics and mechanics
• Identification of safety hazards and a keen sense of safety practices
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills
• Ability to think under stressful, adverse conditions
• Teamwork, problem solving, and negotiation skills

Responsibilities

• Provide individual mentoring and training for electricians to advance their knowledge and troubleshooting skills of all equipment.
• Work in all areas of electrical to train and assist in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of all equipment.
• Review current maintenance programs and recommend changes or practices that will improve reliability.
• Work hands-on with electricians to teach them best practices.
• Assist in developing action plans to improve reliability of problematic equipment.
• Understand testing equipment and computers for diagnosing and locating problems or malfunctions in equipment.
• Assist in the planning of maintenance on all equipment.
• Ensure engagement with all electricians as a resource for technical support.
• Reinforce best safety practices and ensure electricians know the hazards associated with working around electricity.
• Execute, support, and enforce the Company's Environmental, Health and Safety program.
