As a Technical Estimator, you'll be the go-to expert, consulting customers, sales, and manufacturing representatives on a wide range of electrical equipment. This includes everything from emergency electrical docking stations and quality power equipment to AC and DC rectifiers and inverters. Reporting to the Manager of Customer Sales Support, you'll have the exciting opportunity to support a diverse range of products across multiple manufacturing sites. This will allow you to deepen your knowledge of the industrial electrical market significantly. Your success in this role hinges on daily interaction with our sales team, customers, and manufacturing representatives to deliver timely and exceptional customer service. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Technical College Degree with 5 years of industry experience with Load Banks or Electrical Systems
  • Experience in Sales, Estimation or Customer Experience type role
  • Strong written and spoken vocabulary and ability to communicate internally
  • Strong ability to effectively learn technical products, services and solutions and readily apply new knowledge
  • Ability to use digital tools to capture and respond to internal requests
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Emergency Power systems, Test Systems (UL Standards Broadly)
  • Experience in Electrical Equipment Manufacturing or Integration.
  • Engineering Degree or Level 3 Technical/Vocational (i.e., Master Electrician)
  • Highly motivated, passionate, with exceptional written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • High comfort level establishing and growing relationships with customers and internal partners
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Use of an ERP System for gathering required details.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an expert level of product knowledge and application support to assist with quotation of Load Banks.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical power and control drawings / diagrams
  • Listen, understand, and convey customer requirements.
  • Maintain professional business relationships with customers, field sales and manufacturing representatives.
  • Identify customer's needs and sales opportunities to help future growth
  • Coordinate quotes, proposal submittals and assist with order entry efforts with the engineering design and manufacturing teams as required.  Provide customer feedback, product improvement suggestions, and prioritize the ongoing new product development list based on actual customer opportunities.
  • Identify and develop process improvements.
  • Create Solution or Project Estimates
  • Complete required internal documentation that is required for other stakeholders
  • Solicit internal partners, obtain estimates and time projections for preparing vendor proposal comparisons and estimate summary sheets
  • Help in preparing, organizing, and coordinating Request for Proposal documents and schedules, utilizing schedule information to estimate delivery schedules and other schedule-driven items
  • Determine all cost options and the appropriate cost as an input for the project/solution
  • Support lead estimators in data input into estimating software program(s) or systems
  • Perform archive filing and historical cost data gathering
  • Participate in project and estimate review meetings, other project review meetings, and site investigations, as needed 
  • Support lead estimator(s) in gathering information from stakeholders or customers that may affect project (i.e. bid specifications, build plans, layout drawings etc.) 
  • Help manage Addendum or Change Order log and documents from customers/clients
  • Provide directions to new Estimators and Engineers as they join the team 
  • Solicit new information when needed, and gather necessary documents for inclusion in future projects
  • Will provide training to other estimators and interns
