About The Position

The Technical Editor at Plante Moran is responsible for proofreading, editing, and ensuring the accuracy of complex financial statements and reports. This role focuses on adhering to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) while maintaining high standards of grammar, language, and formatting. The Technical Editor works in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with partners and staff to resolve issues and meet client expectations for quality and accuracy.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in English or a related field is required.
• At least 2 years of proofreading experience is required.
• Experience with AP Style is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.

Responsibilities

• Proofreading and editing complex financial statements and reports for accuracy and adherence to GAAP.
• Correcting grammatical, typographical, or numerical errors in financial documents.
• Ensuring formatting, consistency, grammar, syntax, spelling, and adherence to Plante Moran standards in financial documents.
• Producing quality work under tight deadlines and client expectations.
• Consulting with partners, managers, and staff to resolve wording and footing issues in documents.
• Prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities effectively under time pressure.
• Communicating effectively in both written and verbal forms.
