In the role of Technical Editor/Marketing Coordinator, we'll count on you to:

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English or closely related field
  • A minimum of 3 years technical editing experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook Knowledge of Adobe and InDesign
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Nice To Haves

  • Strong capabilities with MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Meticulous attention to grammar, punctuation, and voice.
  • Experience with technical writing, not just editing.
  • Knowledge of the environmental and engineering consulting industry.
  • Knowledge of UDOT processes.
  • Knowledge of Utah and federal environmental processes.
  • Graphics background and ability to translate technical narrative and ideas to graphical messaging

Responsibilities

  • Edit and format technical documents (mainly environmental analyses and federal grant applications, but also proposals and other types of documents) in both MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Edit documents for spelling, punctuation, and grammar plus style, flow, clarity, conciseness, organization, voice, and user focus.
  • Work with the author to better understand assumptions or logic if needed to resolve edits.
  • Use an analytical mindset and suggest ways to make a document communicate better, not just fix grammar and spelling.
  • Coordinate with business development leaders, project managers, and other staff to prepare proposals, statements of qualifications, brochures, presentations, and other materials relating to business development.
  • Support proposal team meetings, review sessions, and interview preparation to develop strategic messaging.
  • Write and edit marketing proposal documents, as well as develop and coordinate graphics and layout
