As a Technical Documentation System Engineer on our team, you'll collaborate with product and program office technical engineers to adapt governmental hardware requirements into commercial IT hardware modifications for tactical systems. You will have the opportunity to work with other engineers to help define and identify commercial ruggedized solutions to tactical issues and conduct commerciality assessments to ensure the viability of selected solutions. Additionally, you will be integral in supporting hardware systems engineering and technical coordination for commercial IT product technical insertions (TIs). Your journey will include cross-functional responsibilities, as well as learning the Independent Government Evaluation (IGE) process, technology evaluation, and TI processes.

  • Perform hardware analysis and evaluations and recommend tactical hardware solutions, including client, server, storage, or network tactical hardware.
  • Create and review support documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct weekly Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings in support of Common Hardware Systems customers to enable system requirements development, integration, or hardware procurement.
  • Translate technical requirements to a non-technical audience.
  • Experience performing hardware analysis and evaluations and recommending tactical hardware solutions.
  • Knowledge of IT solutions, hardware systems, and engineering concepts.
  • Knowledge of Command, Control, Communications, and Network (C3N) systems or components.
  • Knowledge of test plan development and system level testing.
  • Secret clearance.
  • HS diploma or GED.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of FAR and acquisition regulations.
  • Knowledge of the Army's secure wireless capabilities, infrastructure, and network.
  • Knowledge of the Army's Tactical Network modernization efforts.
  • Ability to develop lab demonstrations and proofs-of-concept.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • VMWare VCA, Microsoft MCSE, Linux Administration CSA, or Cisco CCNP Certification.
