About The Position

As a Technical Director , you will be a key driver of business success. You will play a vital role in identifying technology inflections that will driver mid to long term business at ASM. You will be required to understand our customers’ needs and provide roadmap of technology inflections than enable strategy development. The aim is to increase new business opportunities, build customer relationships, manage process technology development, and ensure smooth transfer to global manufacturing sites. Key Responsibilities Drive new product introduction programs to meet and exceed customer performance requirements, including system qualification and system matching activities. Lead discussions with advanced development teams at the customer and with internal stakeholders. Evaluate, understand and identify current customer technology needs, while also anticipating future needs and building long-term sustainable relationship/solutions. Develop, maintain, and ensure relevance of technical information used by internal and external stakeholders. Build strong cross-functional and matrixed relationships and collaborate with Product development, Product Marketing, Service Engineering, and others to ensure a positive customer experience. Drive projects across multiple customer sites that secure business and build trust in ASM’s capabilities. Coordinate management reviews and alignment. Possess the ability to self-direct and prioritize projects among competing goals and exhibit flexibility in a fast-paced environment. Energetic, collaborative and proactive; a leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical finance and administration initiatives

Requirements

  • English speaking
  • Strong market and industry knowledge and awareness of trends associated with our customer’s environments to properly develop and deploy customer solutions
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills with proven track record to drive changes and implement changes to benefit the organization.
  • Proven success in building collaborative partnerships with customers and internal organizations
  • Experienced working with local, regional and global teams.
  • High level of collaboration and work across other divisions – both co-located and globally to meet common goals and targets
  • PhD in Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science discipline.
  • 10+ years in Semiconductor industry.
  • Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing process.
  • Experience in people management.
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills to an executive level.
