Who are we looking for? Our Northeast Environmental business is looking for a Technical Director to join their Waste Management team! In this role, you will lead and expand our solid waste and alternative waste processing teams across the U.S., with a focus on the Northeast region of the US. You’ll shape strategic plans, identify client needs, and deliver cutting-edge solutions in areas like anaerobic digestion, renewable natural gas, hydrogen, and emerging technologies. You’ll also support traditional waste management projects including landfill expansions, closures, and transfer stations.  This is your opportunity to build lasting client relationships, mentor rising talent, and collaborate with industry leaders to champion innovative project delivery! Requirements

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or related technical field of study
  • Professional licensure preferred (PE or PG)
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the waste and alternative waste processing sector including business development, project management, and technical leadership
  • Experience in organic waste processing and waste technologies 
  • Ability to engage and influence various stakeholders, including clients, partners, regulators, and internal teams

Responsibilities

  • Recommendations: Provide integrated, long-term solutions and strategies for a significant area of responsibility, such as a function.
  • Needs Assessment: Engage with senior business leaders to understand long-term strategic challenges.
  • Solutions Analysis: Develop strategic solutions to long-term business needs by anticipating complex issues, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Improvement/Innovation: Initiate, formulate, and implement new business practices within a specific discipline while managing the development and/or delivery of a significant element of the organization's change management program.
  • Knowledge Management System: Take responsibility for developing and delivering a key element of the organization's knowledge management system.
  • Business Requirements Identification: Elicit the most-complex business requirements using a variety of methods, such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis, to express the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals.
  • Feasibility Studies: Conduct the most-complex feasibility studies from a technological and organizational perspective and document findings to complete cost-benefit analysis on implementing changes to business processes, products, or business unit structure.
  • Contract Management: Manage the delivery of a major part of the organization's contract management program while taking personal responsibility for a limited number of mission-critical contracts.
  • Policy Development and Implementation: Develop functional or operational policies and help develop policy frameworks for area of responsibility or department. Take responsibility for creating underlying procedures and monitoring their implementation.
  • Project Management: Manage a portfolio of major projects in line with overall project management strategy.
  • Client & Customer Management (External): Manage key client and customer relationships. Likely to involve using account teams to maintain customer satisfaction and loyalty.
