About The Position

Actus Nutrition has an opening based out of its facilities in Norfolk, Nebraska for the position of Technical Director, Casein Operations. Provide technical oversight and direction for the full commercialization process of casein operations. Direct applications/formulations research and development on new and existing ingredients. Provide technical advice on product, process, and quality improvements. Prepare technical papers and support materials for distribution. Coordinate with operations to develop plant SOP’s and training documentation. Execute efficient results delivered on time and in budget by coordinating with cross-functional teams. Evaluate and make recommendations for application of new ingredient/processing technology. Develop ingredient standards and product specifications. Negotiate materials prices with suppliers. Prepare reports on operations and system efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Dairy Science, Dairy Manufacturing, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related specialty technical field
  • five years of progressive, post-bachelor’s experience in industrial dairy production management
  • specific experience (1) directing the development of casein and caseinate ingredients and products (fresh curd caseinates, micellar casein, acid casein, and rennet casein); (2) applying knowledge of food science and nutrition to product manufacturing; (3) managing and leading teams in a dairy manufacturing environment (casein, caseinate, and/or whey); and (4) working with automation technologies, control system design and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • the position may include some travel – up to 30% of the time for short-term periods up to a year – to third party sites within the United States.
