About The Position

Savage X Fenty is looking for a Technical Designer. As the Technical Designer, you will join an exciting and growing brand. You will manage the fit sample process for Underwear, Accessories and Bralettes from development to pre-production samples. You will attend fittings and work with cross functional team members to have the best class fit. You will work together to come up with creative solutions when meeting challenges. The ideal candidate will be extremely organized, a self-starter and works great collaboratively. This position will report to the Senior Director of Technical Design – Savage X Fenty.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Design or Fashion Design or equivalent direct work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Technical Design.
  • Previous experience in lingerie.
  • Previous experience in plus size.
  • Solid understanding of grade rules.
  • Exceptional knowledge of garment construction, fit, and finishing.
  • Excellent eye for fit and construction.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and presentation.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work in a time sensitive environment and under pressure.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Create initial spec for proto tech packs.
  • Measure all samples to be sure they align with specs.
  • Conduct fit session on model, lead fits and provide fit corrections.
  • Manage the fit process from development to pre-production samples.
  • Identify any technical problems with fit samples and follow through to ensure all issues are resolved prior to production.
  • Send fit comments to vendors in a timely manner.
  • Manage all fit communication with vendors.
  • Analyze garments to determine compliance of spec, construction, and fit intent.
  • Make sure all samples are coming in in a timely manner according to calendar.
  • Work closely with designers and production team as well as import vendors.
