About The Position

Kith is looking for a passionate and dedicated Technical Designer to join the team, with a deep understanding of garment construction, an exceptional eye for detail, and a strong ability to problem-solve for both structurally and visually. This role is ideal for someone who approaches garments as both engineered products and refined visual expressions. This candidate will be responsible for ensuring fit, construction integrity, and execution excellence while collaborating closely with design, product development and production teams. A strong research mindset and the ability to anticipate and resolve construction challenges are essential.

Requirements

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in Technical Design
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Design / Fashion Design
  • Extensive Patternmaking and Draping skills with Knowledge of garment construction
  • Proficient in Gerber Accumark
  • Superior organizational skills and excellent time management
  • Excellent communication skills & team oriented
  • Highly proficient in Google software, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and PLM

Nice To Haves

  • Contemporary / high end brand experience is preferred.
  • Outerwear category Menswear experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review technical packages, including detailed construction specifications, measurements, grading and workmanship standards.
  • Analyze garment construction from concept through production, identifying and resolving fit, construction and visual issues.
  • Lead fittings, communicate clear correction, and follow through on revisions with precision and clarity.
  • Apply strong garment construction and pattern making skills to maintain and promote Kith standards.
  • Research in construction and finishing as well as materials and fusible, resolving design request through mockups or other visual communication.
  • Understanding of the silhouettes, creating and maintaining the blocks for the fit library.
  • Category ownership.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure design intent is preserved while meeting technical and production requirements.
  • Maintain high standards of visual excellence, ensuring garments are not only well-constructed but aesthetically refined.
  • Work with Vendor partners to translate design intent into prototype samples.
  • Provide fit comments with pattern corrections, illustration sketches and construction feedback to confirm fit and design intent.
  • Conduct the risk assessment process with Production team to mitigate risk in bulk production.
  • Execution of approving construction samples, mockups and bulk swatch/production.
  • Perform other technical design related duties, as needed.
