About The Position

NOTE: This position is located at Nordstrom's downtown Seattle headquarters and follows a hybrid work model, with four days in the office and one remote workday each week. Our talented fashion design team, the Nordstrom Product Group (NPG), develops, designs, produces, and sources all Nordstrom ‑ brand products. From traditional to trendy, this team shapes the styles and looks our customers love. And now, we have an exciting opportunity to join this team. As a Technical Designer you will collaborate cross-functionally to deliver the technical design aspects and process for your products - ensuring they meet the Nordstrom Brand DNA. Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years' experience in Technical Design or related field
• A Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Apparel Design, Apparel Manufacturing, Pattern Making or related field or equivalent industry experience
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Clear, effective written and verbal communication
• Strong interpersonal skills
• The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional peers and external partners to ensure product is aligned with development strategies and business needs
• Develop clear, concise Tech Packs to include measurement worksheet and construction images to align with Design intent and Brand DNA
• Lead fit sessions, and evaluate samples to ensure product specifications, quality and construction standards are being executed
• Follow the sample through fit approvals in development and production to ensure intent is met
• Communicate fit comments to suppliers to achieve desired corrections
• Collaborate with stakeholders to streamline product development and production processes, escalating when leadership involvement is needed
