About The Position

The Technical Design Coordinator is responsible for supporting the garment technical development process from style adoption to production across multiple categories.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent business experience in related area
  • 0-1+ years experience of technical design or manufacturing experience
  • Basic understanding of pattern making/grading and how fabrics/trims affect the fit of the garment
  • Developing critical eye for garment fit and necessary corrections, ability to establish and reinforce brand aesthetic with internal/external counterparts
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication and critical thinking skills
  • Basic skills in Web PDM or similar product management system, clear understanding of Adobe Illustrator drawing tool and Microsoft office software, including Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain fit sample library throughout season for multiple departments, and facilitate sample purge and season’s end
  • Manage sample tracking for multiple categories, to ensure fit development cycle is completed within planned time and action calendar.
  • Support Technical Designers in daily workflow including, but not limited to: sample measuring and editing digital images for fit comments.
  • Support fit sessions - learning and develop skill to analyze fit and accurately communicate corrections.
  • Competitive shop the market researching size, fit, construction techniques, and labeling
  • Support total technical design team on special projects as needed and upon request. This may entail additional data entry, sample evaluations, and garment construction review.
  • Accurately estimate time and difficulty of individual tasks and projects; makes conscious decisions about how time is spent; negotiates realistic deadlines up front and delivers on commitments
  • Holds self-accountable for individual results; takes appropriate and timely action on individual tasks and projects to achieve objectives
  • Seen as a constant contributor to the team both inside and outside of their own function
  • Adaptable and flexible to the changing needs of the business / department
  • Self-starter with eagerness to learn
