Requirements

Responsibilities

• Solution Architecture & Technical Direction · Define and own end-to-end solution architecture · Translate business requirements into scalable, secure designs · Define and enforce non-functional requirements (performance, security, scalability) · Produce core architecture artefacts (diagrams, flows, infrastructure design) · Evaluate and select technologies based on business and technical fit · Identify risks, trade-offs, and dependencies early
• Delivery Ownership & Execution · Own delivery of high-quality software on a sprint-by-sprint basis · Ensure alignment between architecture and implementation · Act as the technical escalation point · Drive predictability, quality, and consistency in delivery · Balance scope, quality, and timelines under delivery pressure
• Technical Leadership (Hands-on) · Lead the engineering team as a hands-on Dev Lead · Set and enforce coding standards and best practices · Own code quality, design integrity, and technical decisions · Actively manage technical debt and system health
• Engineering & DevOps Oversight · Ensure strong engineering practices (CI/CD, branching, automation) · Oversee environments across dev, test, and production · Ensure cloud infrastructure is scalable and reliable · Support resolution of critical production issues
• Team Leadership & Capability Building · Mentor and develop engineers · Build a high-performance, accountable team culture · Promote continuous learning and knowledge sharing
• Stakeholder Engagement · Act as the primary technical interface across business and delivery · Translate technical concepts into clear business language · Lead architecture discussions, workshops, and design sessions · Influence decisions through clear articulation of trade-offs, risks, and value · Clearly communicate trade-offs and decisions
• Project Initiation & Solution Setup · Contribute to scoping, estimation, and planning · Establish architecture and DevOps foundations early · Ensure teams are set up for successful delivery from day one
• Pre-Sales & Discovery · Support client engagements, workshops, and proposals · Contribute to high-level solution design and estimation · Represent the organisation as a technical authority
• Governance & Standards · Drive adoption of architecture and engineering standards · Contribute to technical governance and best practices · Support Centre for Enablement initiatives (R&D, advisory)
