About The Position

Improvix Technologies is seeking a Technical Delivery Architect / Solutions Lead to define and drive application modernization across a federal program. This role is centered on solution architecture, technical strategy, and modernization advisory, with responsibility for ensuring delivery teams implement solutions aligned to the target architecture. You will serve as the technical authority for a portfolio of applications — shaping modernization roadmaps, guiding engineering teams, and advising government stakeholders on technology decisions that improve mission outcomes. This is a hands-on architecture role for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, modernizing legacy systems, and influencing delivery without being buried in day-to-day project management.

Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance (Top Secret eligibility preferred)
  • 8–10+ years of experience in application development, solution architecture, and technical leadership
  • Demonstrated experience modernizing legacy applications using modern frameworks, cloud platforms, and CI/CD practices
  • Strong understanding of Agile delivery models and modern SDLC (from an architectural leadership perspective)
  • Proven ability to communicate technical concepts to senior government and non-technical stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • Experience serving as a lead or principal architect on enterprise or multi-application modernization efforts
  • Federal program experience supporting mission-critical systems
  • Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, automation, and emerging technologies

Responsibilities

  • Own the target-state architecture for a portfolio of applications, including modernization, cloud adoption, and technical debt reduction strategies.
  • Design scalable, secure, and maintainable application architectures aligned with mission and enterprise objectives.
  • Evaluate and recommend modern technology stacks, frameworks, and platforms to replace or enhance legacy systems.
  • Develop multi-year technical roadmaps that balance mission needs, risk, and modernization priorities.
  • Provide architectural guidance to development and DevOps teams throughout the SDLC.
  • Review and approve technical designs, ensuring alignment with standards, security requirements, and best practices.
  • Partner with delivery leads and infrastructure teams to ensure CI/CD pipelines, environments, and platforms support the intended architecture.
  • Identify technical risks early and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to government leadership, translating complex technical concepts into clear, mission-focused recommendations.
  • Support architecture reviews, technical briefings, and decision-making forums.
  • Collaborate with vendors and partners to ensure proposed solutions align with architectural vision and program objectives.
  • Establish and maintain architecture standards, patterns, and best practices across the program.
  • Drive consistency and reuse across application solutions.
  • Continuously assess system performance, security posture, and maintainability to identify modernization opportunities.

Benefits

  • Architect-first role with real influence over technical direction
  • High-visibility federal mission with long-term program stability
  • Opportunity to shape modernization strategy rather than just implement tasks
  • Collaborative environment with access to senior leadership and decision-makers
