About The Position

The Technical Cultivation Manager is responsible for directing the overall operation of the cultivation department, maximizing productivity through advanced technological resources, scheduling and delegating daily staff responsibilities, and improving operational efficiencies. This role involves strategic decision-making, analyzing crop performance data, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The manager will also oversee the implementation of a detailed Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program and maintain accurate plant inventories.

Requirements

  • Must possess a Marijuana Establishment Agent Card and Pesticide Applicator License.
  • Previous commercial cultivation/management experience preferred.
  • Degree in plant and environmental sciences preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Thorough command of compliance software and job-specific information technology.
  • Capacity to direct staff to achieve daily directives and department goals.
  • Flexible work schedule required.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Must pass required background checks.
  • Must have a medical evaluation and respirator fit test performed upon commencing employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with climate control systems, specifically Argus and Link 4.
  • Experience with fertigation equipment and systems, including drip irrigation and dosatron.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based software.
  • Understanding of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership across all facets of the cultivation department to maximize productivity.
  • Schedule, delegate, and monitor everyday cultivation staff responsibilities.
  • Improve operational efficiencies through strategic decision-making and process design.
  • Employ technological resources to implement data capturing and develop advanced cultivation methods.
  • Maintain accurate digital records of daily crop management activities.
  • Monitor light levels and make real-time adjustments for optimal plant growth.
  • Analyze crop performance data and recommend operational improvements.
  • Utilize fertigation systems to maintain environmental control and deliver fertilization recipes.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate plant inventory counts.
  • Develop and track a detailed IPM program to mitigate crop risks.
  • Assist in production yield forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with Nevada laws and regulations.
  • Manage Profit & Loss responsibilities for the cultivation department.
  • Assist in developing departmental budgets and managing finances.
  • Responsible for employee scheduling and training.
  • Participate in hiring and firing of cultivation employees.
  • Monitor industry trends and advise the executive team.
  • Maintain sustainability objectives to limit environmental impact.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
