About The Position

Cleveland-Cliffs Steel is seeking a motivated individual with a good understanding of the business and manufacturing applications software market to fill an immediate opening for a Technical Category Buyer. The ideal candidate will be a procurement professional with experience buying a large variety of software and IT services or an experienced information technology ("IT") professional looking to build off their past experience. This individual will serve as a liaison between Cliffs' internal IT users, Cliffs' information security, Cliffs' legal, and external channel partners and service providers. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in a wide variety of business and manufacturing software, a strong attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities. The role will be on-site at our corporate headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or related field
• Five years of experience in the information technology field or five years of procurement experience buying business and manufacturing application software and services
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat

• Fundamental understanding of the legal aspects associated with software licenses and service agreements

Responsibilities

• Negotiate commercial aspects of software licenses, order forms, and service agreements
• Identify cost opportunities and facilitate bidding
• Identify risk with software and coordinate internal review when appropriate
• Assist with tracking and elimination of duplicate licensing
• Review specifications and issue purchase orders for software, licenses, support and IT services
• Assist with resolving billing issues
• Other duties as assigned
