The Technical Buyer will support the procurement activities for BASF's Georgia-based refinery catalyst sites and other locations. This role involves managing sourcing processes, developing strategic supply solutions, and providing relationship management for key suppliers. The Technical Buyer will also conduct market intelligence research and collaborate with various departments to implement sourcing strategies, ensuring competitive supply advantages for the company.

  • Lead and manage the sourcing process (RFI, RFQ, RFP, etc.) for key contracts and complex negotiations.
  • Provide relationship management for key suppliers, monitoring performance metrics and resolving claims or disputes.
  • Conduct market intelligence research by interacting with suppliers and industry associations.
  • Support the development of supply strategies for the North American region in collaboration with Procurement Category Management.
  • Engage across the organization, working with various departments and levels within BASF.
  • Be responsible for category buying for key business-specific equipment and associated services.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marketing, Supply Chain or related fields.
  • 5+ years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering/Operations and/or Sales and Marketing.
  • Experience with contract negotiations.
  • Proficient in market knowledge.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a multi-task environment and be team-oriented.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
