About The Position

TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE II , Biological Engineering, to serve as a member of a cutting-edge research team developing advanced therapeutics, vaccines, and materials using synthetic nucleic acids. The successful candidate will perform independent research to support solid-phase DNA & RNA synthesis using an automated nucleic acid synthesizer; nucleic acid conjugation; and purification. They will conduct quantitative nucleic acid analyses using HPLC, mass spectrometry, PCR, and electrophoresis. They will also be responsible for ordering lab supplies and reagents; and coordinating lab operations, safety compliance, protocol development, and equipment maintenance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry or related field
• A minimum of four years of specialized lab experience in research or industry, with expertise in solid-phase nucleic acid synthesis, purification, and biochemical analysis
• Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to plan, execute, and troubleshoot experiments independently
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with a commitment to maintaining precise documentation
• Must adapt to evolving lab needs and work both independently and collaboratively
• Ability to follow complex protocols and conduct independent research
• Willingness to learn new techniques and occasionally work evenings or weekends, as needed
• No travel required

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related technical field
• Strong interest in a long-term role, contributing to the continuity and success of the lab’s ongoing research initiatives
