About The Position

TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE I , SPRANGER LAB , Koch Institute for Integrated Cancer Research , to support research investigating the tumor–immune microenvironment of glioblastoma. This position will support research on the tumor immune microenvironment of glioblastoma, focusing on how immune responses evolve during tumor development and following therapy using murine models and immunologic approaches. Responsibilities include supporting mouse brain tumor studies such as genotyping, tumor induction, drug administration, survival monitoring, and tissue collection in accordance with approved animal protocols. The technician will perform immune and molecular assays including flow cytometry, histology, immunohistochemistry, cloning, and sample processing. The role involves executing experiments independently, maintaining detailed laboratory records, organizing and entering data, managing reagents and inventory, ordering supplies, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with research protocols. Additional duties include assisting with literature searches and supporting the preparation of figures, reports, and research summaries. The technician will work closely with a physician scientist postdoctoral fellow.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, biomedical sciences, chemistry, or a related field
  • A minimum of two years of research laboratory experience, including undergraduate experience
  • Experience or strong interest in immunology or cancer biology, mouse handling and genotyping, flow cytometry, histology or immunohistochemistry, or basic molecular biology
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with laboratory safety practices

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with mouse models, flow cytometry, tissue culture, cancer immunology, neuro-oncology, or translational research
  • Interest in contributing to experimental design and data interpretation
