About The Position

NorthMark Strategies is seeking a Technical Assistant / Project Manager to support the execution of high-priority initiatives at the center of the firm’s operating agenda. This role sits within the Office of the COO, working closely with senior leaders to translate direction into structured plans, drive follow-through, and ensure momentum across complex, cross-functional workstreams. The Project Manager will own day-to-day execution – building and maintaining project plans, tracking deliverables, preparing executive-ready materials, and surfacing risks and dependencies. While this role provides meaningful exposure to senior leadership, it is fundamentally an execution and coordination role, ideal for someone with 5–7 years of experience who brings structured thinking, strong communication skills, and a bias toward getting things done.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in project management, management consulting, or a related execution-focused role.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA candidates or graduates preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
  • The ability to demonstrate lateral leadership and influence / inspire the actions of others without direct authority.
  • Strong organizational skills and a track record of reliable execution and follow-through.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly with senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate as a trusted advisor to senior leaders
  • Experience influencing outcomes without formal authority.
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel / skills; comfort building structured, executive-ready materials.
  • Proficient in leveraging frontier LLM’s (Claude, ChatGPT, CoPilot etc.) to automate tasks and accelerate project execution and delivery.
  • Ability to synthesize information, prioritize effectively, and turn direction into actionable plans.
  • Detail-oriented, thoughtful, and proactive working style.
  • Interest in technical programs; and a foundational understanding of high-performance computing and AI related technologies.
  • Experience working closely with senior leaders or on cross-functional initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day project execution across assigned initiatives, including maintaining project plans, timelines, and task trackers.
  • Translate strategic direction into clear, well-scoped project plans and execution roadmaps.
  • Own follow-through on leadership priorities, proactively driving resolution of blockers and tradeoffs across teams.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including status reports, roadmaps, schedules, and working plans.
  • Provide independent judgment and recommendations to senior leaders based on synthesized inputs and analysis.
  • Prepare executive-ready presentations, summaries, and briefing materials to support leadership reviews and decision-making.
  • Act as a proxy for senior leadership in cross-functional discussions to drive alignment and decisions.
  • Identify, track, and help mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating appropriately.
  • Partner directly with senior leadership to define, prioritize, and sequence the firm’s highest-impact initiatives.
  • Maintain organized project files, documentation, and shared workspaces.
  • Identify key project risks and issues and manage mitigation and resolution and escalate quickly for visibility and resolution where appropriate.
  • Support strategic planning and operating cadence, including leadership reviews, goal setting, and progress tracking.
