About The Position

The Technical Assistant operates under the supervision of the Lancaster Performing Arts Center (LPAC) Supervisor, and Senior Technical Assistants, to perform behind-the-scenes labor for performances and events. This position is considered non-exempt and is classified as temporary.

Requirements

• Ability to organize
• Understand and follow written and oral instructions
• Deal tactfully and effectively with staff, participants, and the public
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for acceptable job performance
• Currently enrolled in a college, university, or trade school majoring in Theatre Arts, Film, Television, or a related field is desirable

Responsibilities

• Assisting with several production areas for both indoor and outdoor events
• Lighting hangs and restores
• Follow Spot operating
• Stage audio setups
• Scenic assembly/take downs using hand and power tools
• Wardrobe handling
• Video world and camera operations
• Counterweight fly system loading
• Working dance, theatre, and music performances
• Loading/unloading equipment, cases, gondolas, and hampers from trucks
• Working outdoor events in various technical production areas
• Ability to work nights and weekends
