Under the limited supervision of a supervisory official in a State department, institution, or agency, performs complex technical duties and functions as an independent worker for prescribed technical projects or programs requiring the independent application of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to varying situations within the particular area of assignment; does other related duties as required. Specific to the Position Provides support to functions such as grant/contract compliance monitoring, program monitoring, or fiscal compliance and budgetary assistance. Provides technical assistance to state and/or local communities or agencies, completing forms or applications, reviewing documents for accuracy and content, resolving complaints, or interpreting rules, regulations, policies, and procedures for the public, and/or others. Participates in conducting surveys, investigations, task forces, special studies, and innovative projects and, when required, prepares reports containing findings, conclusions, and recommendations. Assists in coordinating, gathering, compiling, assembling, analyzing, and interpreting data required by the supervisory official and/or professional staff in completing assigned tasks. Independently consults with representatives of various interested parties to exchange information, discuss unusual problems and develop solutions.

  • EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's degree. NOTE: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional experience as indicated on a year-for-year basis with thirty (30) semester-hour credits being equal to one (1) year of experience.
  • EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of experience in providing support to functions such as grant/contract compliance monitoring, program monitoring, or fiscal compliance and budgetary assistance and/or providing technical assistance to state and/or local communities or agencies, completing forms or applications, reviewing documents for accuracy and content, resolving complaints, or interpreting rules, regulations, policies, and procedures for the public, and/or others.
  • NOTE: Applicants who do not possess the required experience may substitute additional education as indicated on a year-for-year basis with thirty (30) semester hour credits being equal to one (1) year of experience.
  • NOTE: All U.S. degrees and transcripts must be from an accredited college or university. All foreign degrees and transcripts must be evaluated for accreditation by a recognized evaluation service by the closing date of this posting. Failure to provide documentation may result in ineligibility.
  • Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
  • All persons newly hired on or after September 1, 2011, have one year from the date of employment to establish, and then maintain principal residence in the State of New Jersey subject to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L.2011, Chapter 70), also known as the “New Jersey First Act”.
