Position Summary The Technical Architect partners with product, engineering, infrastructure, and pharmacy business teams to design scalable, cost‑efficient solutions using consistent architectural patterns. This role identifies opportunities to optimize pharmacy operations, drives technology‑enabled innovations, and ensures alignment with enterprise architecture standards. The Technical Architect also collaborates with sales and executive leadership to communicate product capabilities, define long-term technology strategy, and guide teams through current‑ and future‑state architecture development. This position provides technical leadership throughout product development, resolves complex challenges, and ensures adherence to cost‑containment strategies and architectural best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in the healthcare payer or PBM industry.
  • 8+ years of experience architecting and delivering solutions for healthcare payers or PBMs.
  • 8+ years in a solution architecture leadership role.
  • 8+ years of hands‑on architecture development and solution engineering.
  • 3+ years collaborating with sales teams to present solutions.
  • 8+ years communicating and ideating with executive leadership.
  • Proven experience leading complex technology projects using technologies such as Angular, .NET, Entity Framework, Python, Postgres/MySQL/SQL Server, SQL, Docker, and EKS.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies, architecture patterns, and best practices.
  • Ability to perform proof‑of‑concepts and develop implementable technical solutions.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Experience managing and prioritizing multiple projects.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud‑native architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Translate business requirements into scalable, efficient technology solutions.
  • Define and maintain solution architecture vision, strategy, and roadmaps.
  • Lead design of complex systems, including integrations, data architecture, application design, and infrastructure.
  • Ensure architectural standards, patterns, and guidelines are consistently applied across products.
  • Develop current‑state and future‑state architectures for pharmacy cost‑saving solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance across cloud, microservices, DevOps, security, and emerging technologies.
  • Resolve technical challenges during product development and commercialization.
  • Promote best practices, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning within engineering teams.
  • Educate teams on cost‑containment processes and ensure product compliance with cost‑saving strategies.
  • Partner with pharmacy business stakeholders to identify process‑optimization opportunities.
  • Ideate and innovate new pharmacy solutions and technology‑supported services.
  • Work closely with the CTO to define long‑term architecture strategy.
  • Collaborate with sales to present solutions and architecture to executives and clients.
  • Present product capabilities, architecture, and custom solutions to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communicate technology roadmaps, current-state assessments, and solution strategies to executive leadership.
  • Support product development and commercialization by ensuring technical readiness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational needs.
