About The Position

The Technical Analyst role within Market Data Services is responsible for the many technical & operational aspects of the Market Data environment at Raymond James. The role requires close interaction with Raymond James users to provide advice and guidance pertaining to Market Data products and services in use and working with business units and teams regarding technical and operational support. You will be engaged in the support of Market Data applications/data feeds and users, using your technical & financial workflow knowledge to resolve queries, and will participate in and assist with strategic initiatives to optimize the use of related services.

Requirements

• Ideally one (1) to two (2) years of relevant experience is preferred.
• Experience working with Market Data Vendor applications such as FactSet, Eikon/Workspace, Bloomberg, Morningstar etc. in addition to knowledge of vendors, exchanges and Index providers is preferred.
• Customer focused to directly communicate, assist and guide Raymond James users with issues, questions and advice regarding market data applications.
• Knowledge of Optimize Spend (OS) or an equivalent tool is beneficial but not required.
• Knowledge of the financial markets and in particular the Wealth Management space is a significant benefit.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Market Data management, general administration, reporting activities and data analysis.
• Customer focused, able to assist and guide Raymond James users with issues, questions and advice regarding market data applications.
• Assist with or resolve incidents escalated to Market Data Services team, and engage relevant teams (internally and externally) as needed to provide resolution in a timely manner.
• Be a technical resource for Market Data products & services and be responsible for assisting with and managing upgrades to vendor desktop applications / network changes (e.g. firewall changes) / other configuration changes.
• Testing vendor product version upgrades & provide feedback regarding functionality & suitability, etc.
• Monitor for vendor outages that may affect applications in use and communicate to internal teams as appropriate. Assist with post-incident activities.
• Review support statistics, incident reports and usage analysis to monitor issues and trends and improve all aspects of support.
• Assist with project functions during rollouts, upgrades, acquisitions etc.
• Own technical documentation for related services, including ensuring internal websites are up to date for products & services, and Knowledge Documents & forms are accurate.
• Assist with Market Data user and application inventory through Optimize Spend (OS) tool.
• Build and maintain strong relations with Market Data providers and business partners, and develop an understanding of services and capabilities offered in order to gauge optimal use of data and products.
• Understand, interpret and define business partner requirements related to Market Data services in order to provide suitable advice and guidance.
• Effectively interact with stakeholders, and other operational and technology teams to assist with the delivery and implementation of solutions.
• Monitor & participate in Market Data activities and events to maintain knowledge of the industry.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
