About The Position

The Technical Analyst I position at Staples involves supporting the company's Digital Solutions team by providing technical assistance and infrastructure support for various technologies and vendors. This role focuses on maintaining and optimizing network operations, user support, and administrative tasks related to network gear and compliance. The analyst will work closely with project teams and vendors to ensure efficient operations across Staples' locations, particularly in Billings, MT, and will be part of a 24/7 on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with WAN, LAN, and Wireless technologies.
  • 3+ years' experience with Cisco routers and switches and Extreme Networks Wi-Fi.
  • 3+ years of personal computer experience, including PC software/hardware, Windows 10, and Apple/Mac.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365, PC imaging, and software deployment systems (SCCM).
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP LAN and WAN networks.
  • Good understanding of RF and security technologies.

Nice To Haves

  • Avaya/Cisco IP-tel / VOIP experience.
  • Experience in supporting Distribution and Supply Chain/Warehousing infrastructure environments.
  • BS or BA degree in computer science, business administration or related field or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Staples/360 Office Solutions warehouse and annex buildings in Billings, MT, and the greater Montana area.
  • Manage wired and wireless networks, providing day-to-day user support for PCs and printers.
  • Participate in project teams providing remote support for large projects outside of Montana.
  • Handle business administrative tasks related to network gear costs, optimizations, and reporting.
  • Manage the spare gear asset pool and ensure support maintenance licenses are updated on vendor portals.
  • Ensure compliance of network assets in ServiceNow and conduct annual audits for network diagrams.
  • Assist in the planning of annual Network, Printers, and PC refreshes for each site.
  • Install and configure network gear, including Cisco routers and layer 2/3 switches.
  • Work with 3rd party vendors for quotes, purchase orders, and project management.
  • Maintain infrastructure documentation using Word, Visio, and Excel.
