About The Position

The Technical Accounting Manager independently owns complex technical accounting and financial reporting areas, applying strong judgment and expertise to ensure accuracy, compliance, and scalability. This role leads defined accounting initiatives, improves processes, and serves as a trusted technical resource for the broader finance team while supporting the development of more junior team members. What you’ll do: Own equity accounting end-to-end, including administration of equity grants, oversight of equity systems, monitoring employee lifecycle events, and calculation and reporting of stock-based compensation Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for equity-related questions, providing clear guidance to employees and internal stakeholders Perform and review monthly reconciliations between equity systems and HR data, ensuring data integrity and timely resolution of discrepancies Prepare cash forecasts and cash flow analyses, identifying trends, risks, and funding considerations Prepare and review debt covenant calculations, supporting lender requirements and responding to ad hoc data requests Coordinate with external auditors and internal partners to support audits and resolve accounting issues efficiently Partner with valuation specialists to support annual equity award valuations and ensure appropriate accounting treatment Monitor liquidity needs and anticipate borrowing requirements, ensuring sufficient funds to support operations Review debt- and lease-related GL reconciliations to ensure accuracy and timely month-end close Research new accounting guidance and provide well-supported technical conclusions and recommendations Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to promote consistency and best practices Provide guidance and informal mentorship to team members on technical accounting topics

Requirements

  • Ability to use and navigate Netsuite
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and analytical abilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail and time management skills
  • Requires a minimum of 6 years of related or equivalent experience; or 4+ years with an advanced degree.
  • This is a remote role; however, applicants located within 45 miles of our Westlake/Dallas, TX office should expect to work on-site Tuesday through Thursday, with remote flexibility on Mondays and Fridays.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in accounting or finance preferred
  • CPA is preferred

Responsibilities
