You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. As a member of the Google Tower within the Alphabet Technical Accounting team, you are at the forefront of navigating accounting guidance for arrangements. You partner and collaborate to understand go-to-market offerings and constructs. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).
  • 14 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 12 years with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.
  • Experience building, developing, or leading a team.
  • Experience with revenue recognition and ASC 606 guidelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a technical accounting or similar role at the SEC or FASB.
  • Ability to have a collaborative style and work with cross-functional and international teams.
  • Ability to sponsor and oversee the management of a portfolio of projects and programs.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work with minimal guidance and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct technical research on accounting issues and provide accounting consultation advice to business partners under US GAAP.
  • Lead the implementation of the new U.S. GAAP accounting standards, including working with various cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Draft and maintain global accounting policies and memos.
  • Keep business partners informed of developments in accounting and financial reporting through issuance of publications, facilitation of training sessions and meeting forums, and drafting of comment letters to standard setters.
