About The Position

The Account Manager plays an integral role in the company's sales process with an emphasis on the creation of business in assigned accounts. Their focus is to grow accounts and they are measured by closed business based on the plans and needs of their aligned areas. They are tasked to grow accounts through new projects, expand and add services inside a fixed customer organization, and grow the company's footprint into other customer locations. They accomplish these goals by developing relationships with key personnel at all levels inside a customer's organization, visiting plants to understand technology as well as customer-specific challenges, and working closely with internal engineering to create unique manufacturing solutions for our clients. This dynamic person will come from a background in selling in solutions / services organizations (System Integration Experience preferred) or an engineering background where they desire to expand their career into a sales focus. The candidate must have the ability to blend their industry or technical expertise into customer-facing solutions. Reporting to the Leader of our Account Management group, you will work closely with others on the sales team, executives, and engineering departments to create strategic growth areas with our clients. Requirements

  • Experience with System Integration / controls system engineering in a manufacturing environment.
  • A drive to expand and grow business.
  • Ability to communicate with many different people at many different career levels in a customer location.
  • Ability to set and manage priorities and your calendar.
  • Experience with proposals and quoting.
  • A deep understanding of a sales process or system.
  • Ability and level of comfort in handling issues for clients.
  • Ability to keep track of activities, priorities, interactions, funnel, and results in a centralized CRM system of record.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in English.

Responsibilities

  • From the perspective of a consultant work with new and existing customers to understand manufacturing problems and then help translate, define, and subsequently sell solutions to meet their needs.
  • Guide customers in their decisions and approach to the problems they face today and in the future as it pertains to their Operational Technology systems.
  • Organize, manage, and serve a diverse book of customer accounts with a variety of products and solutions across the portfolio.
  • Internally and externally communicate and coordinate the fulfillment of the needs of the customer portfolio.
  • Communicate with both the upper management and the operation / engineering groups at the customer's site to have a thorough picture of their processes, needs, and issues.
  • Develop long-term trusted advisor relationships with customers.
  • Champion and own account growth with key customers.
  • Work with the Avanceon business development team to qualify new opportunities, quote the proposed solutions, and develop long-term customer relationships for future growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate and communicate internally with operations to build and then execute account strategies while consulting and seeking guidance from our executive leadership and updating all parties on progress.
