About The Position

CareDx offers products, testing services, and digital healthcare solutions along the pre- and post-transplant patient journey, and is the leading provider of genomics-based information for transplant patients. Role Overview: We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic interns to join our Equipment Engineering team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a cutting-edge diagnostic company focused on creating life-changing solutions that enable transplant patients to thrive. Interns will work closely with our experienced professionals and contribute to meaningful projects that impact patient care. At the end of the summer internship, interns will complete a guided capstone project aligned with active Equipment Engineering and laboratory initiatives, focusing on equipment performance, workflow optimization, or process improvement. Interns will summarize their learnings and outcomes and share with the team.

Requirements

  • Must be 17 years old or older.
  • Demonstrated academic or work experience [engineering, biotechnology,] or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of laboratory techniques and procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Nice To Haves

  • Python and MS .Net software languages preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and validation of new diagnostic assays
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities
  • Collaborate with team members on research and development projects
  • Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records
  • Adhere to all safety and compliance protocols
  • Assist with documentation of service performed in accordance with requirements outlined by licensing and accreditation agencies.
  • Support the effort to transfer workflows, materials, protocols, quality testing from R&D to the CLIA laboratory team.
  • Assist with the execution of experiments to address product stability, scalability, and alternative materials for kit production and services.
