About The Position

The position is for a part-time role at Aurora Medical Center Kenosha, focusing on patient services and retail services. The working hours are Monday to Friday from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm, with additional hours every other weekend from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. The role involves assembling patient and mobile meal trays, delivering meals to patient rooms, and maintaining cleanliness in the cafeteria. The job also includes operating a cash register and performing cleaning duties in the kitchen and cafeteria.

Requirements

  • No formal education required.
  • No experience required.
  • Basic knowledge in food service from within a hospital, hotel, restaurant, or a related environment.
  • Ability to read and understand written and oral communications.
  • Good communication and customer service skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers.
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office or similar products.

Responsibilities

  • Assembles patient and mobile meal trays/meals in accordance with approved diet guidelines and portions while adhering to productivity standards.
  • Loads and transports food carts. Delivers patient meal trays to patient rooms in accordance with established procedures.
  • Provides initial service to visitors in the cafeteria by serving food and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Operates cash register, handles cash, and completes daily reports and cash register balance sheets as needed.
  • Performs cleaning duties using established sanitation procedures in the kitchen and cafeteria.
  • Washes pots, pans, and dishes according to established procedures.
  • Assists with preparation, delivery, setup, cleanup, and presentation of catered and specialized events.
  • Assists with 'special days/promotions', including decorating.
  • Displays daily specials for presentation to customers.
  • Coordinates the food preparation and presentation of all major catering.
  • Prepares snacks, beverages, sandwiches, and other patient food items in accordance with standardized recipes.
  • Prepares, arranges, serves, and replenishes supplies of food, beverages, and condiments in retail areas and kitchen.
  • Delivers and stocks all nursing units, doctors' lounges, same day surgery, and emergency rooms.
  • Monitors food temperatures and utilizes established procedures to ensure safe food handling techniques.
