About The Position

The Tech Specialist, with an Electrical Maintenance focus, is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and correcting problems across production equipment, building systems, and utility infrastructure. This role involves performing preventive and corrective maintenance, particularly on electrical systems and components. The specialist will also be tasked with submitting change requests for equipment or process modifications, maintaining accurate documentation including electrical schematics and repair logs, and managing a critical spare parts inventory. Collaboration with technical teams, investigation of recurring issues, and participation in the installation and commissioning of new equipment are key aspects. Additionally, the position requires coordinating and supervising outside contractors for various facility services such as building utilities, fire suppression systems, and HVAC.

Requirements

  • Technical Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred.
  • 4 to 6 years of hands-on maintenance experience required.
  • Proven ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve issues in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Experience managing contractor work related to facility utilities and life safety systems.
  • Strong organizational skills for documentation, spare parts tracking, and reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • 6 to 8 years of hands-on maintenance experience.
  • Familiarity with building and fire codes applicable to industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and electrical safety practices.
  • Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and numeric control systems.
  • Understanding of key facility utilities including fire suppression systems, compressed air, HVAC, and power distribution.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct problems on production equipment, building systems, and utility infrastructure.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on a wide range of production equipment including electrical systems and components.
  • Submit change requests for equipment or process modifications, with supporting documentation showing improvements in reliability, quality, or performance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, repair logs, and spare parts records.
  • Develop and manage a spare parts inventory for components critical to plant operations.
  • Work closely with the technical team including maintenance and engineering staff to enhance technical knowledge and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Investigate recurring or chronic issues, implement root cause solutions, and contribute to preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Participate in the evaluation, installation, and commissioning of new equipment or upgrades.
  • Coordinate and supervise outside contractors performing service or maintenance on building utilities, fire suppression systems, HVAC, and related infrastructure.
