About The Position

A sleep technologist works under the general supervision of the medical director and/or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in center testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education. The sleep technologists is to provide safe, competent and ethical sleep acquisition/recording and titration care to all patients. Provides leadership and direction to those employees with lesser training.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent with some post-secondary or college education in a science or health related area.
  • Training may occur on the job in an established sleep center.
  • Preferred, successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to a certificate or associate degree with an emphasis in sleep technology.
  • BLS required.
  • ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to select, train, motivate and develop subordinates as well as maintain department budget.
  • Advises the senior management on Diagnostic technology initiatives and serves as a resource to departments and committees.
  • Provides direction for the Radiologic staff in managing the day to day operations of Radiology.
  • Oversees Joint Commission, TDH, regulatory, and unit compliance, maintaining a smooth functioning healthcare team and also serves as senior Radiologist Technologist advisor.
  • Coordinates and provides direct patient care in a timely effective manner in collaboration with other healthcare team members.
