About The Position

Citi's Equities Sales Research group is seeking a a senior-level Technology-focused Salesperson. They will assist Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) clients with capital raising in the capital markets and providing strategic advisory services for financial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, in collaboration with the Institutional Banking team. This role also involves acting as an intermediary in trading for clients. The primary goal is to serve as a strategic advisor to clients, formulating investment strategies and facilitating capital raising efforts.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of sales experience within a financial services organization for Director consideration; Experience in a client-facing role working with the buy-side community, or broader buyside/sellside experience.
  • Proven experience in the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) sector.
  • Proven interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain required licenses, including Series 3, 7, 55, and 63.
  • Demonstrates a strong desire to learn and is a collaborative team player.
  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Refine and implement sales/marketing strategies to enhance Citi's client footprint and maximize revenue.
  • Collaborate with management and colleagues to establish a clear marketing plan with defined priorities, market penetration, and revenue goals.
  • Utilize an established contact network to understand client needs, introduce Citi's offerings, and drive client adoption to increase satisfaction and revenue.
  • Advise the team on strategic positioning and transaction closure, coordinating with internal stakeholders such as structuring, trading, legal, credit, and risk departments.
  • Forge a relationship with salespeople in order to leverage Citi's franchise and source relevant buying and selling opportunities for clients.
  • Actively collaborate with a dynamic senior research team.
  • Partner with the TMT Managing Director to strategically grow and expand the TMT franchise.
  • Lead strong governance and controls within the role.
  • Work closely with control functions (Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance) to ensure a robust governance and control infrastructure.
  • Cultivate a culture of responsible finance, good governance, supervision, expense discipline, and ethics.
  • Appropriately assess the risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions, considering the firm’s reputation.
  • Adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services.
  • Comply with all role-defined policies and procedures.
  • Obtain and maintain all required registrations/licenses within the appropriate timeframe.
  • Proactively assess risk in business decisions, demonstrating consideration for Citigroup's reputation, clients, and assets, by ensuring compliance with laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment, and managing/reporting control issues transparently.
