About The Position

The Technical Sales Rep position sells products for a manufacturer or distributor to business and industrial establishments or individuals. This position is classified as an “outside sales” position; the position’s primary duty is to obtain orders/contracts for products or services; employees are customarily and regularly engaged away from GCS’s place of business. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Requirements

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to three years’ experience in outside sales with industrial engine accessory equipment. Electrical or mechanical background a plus.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Moderate computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel. Familiar with web navigation, experience working with databases.

Nice To Haves

Electrical or mechanical background a plus.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement a plan in conjunction with the Branch Manager to call on all customers, existing and new, in a defined geographic territory.
Generate an effective route schedule.
Drive the designated route and provide delivery and pickup services.
Work closely with leadership to support customer needs.
