About The Position

The PCC Digital Accessibility Review Team is committed to evaluating and improving the accessibility of digital technologies across the college. As the Technology Review Coordinator, you will facilitate the accessibility evaluation process, serving as a vital checkpoint within the PCC procurement and contract pipeline. In this role, you will perform technical assessments of current and proposed technologies to identify barriers to access. By analyzing VPATs, ACRs, and other technical documentation, you will evaluate compliance with WCAG standards and help the college make informed decisions. Collaborating closely with the Manager for Accessible Technology, you will provide strategic recommendations on testing priorities, risk levels, and vendor engagement. Your work is essential to reducing digital barriers and ensuring that PCC’s technology landscape increasingly supports an inclusive environment for all users. This role serves as the central hub for the testing team, overseeing everything from initial scenario development and vendor coordination to the facilitation of live sessions and meetings. The Coordinator ensures high-quality output by refining testing reports and streamlining the distribution of results across all internal and external stakeholders. This job classification and description serves three distinct roles in our organization, with the duties of the technology review coordinator focusing on the following: Optimizes transparency and access to the digital library of reviewed technologies for college – wide consumption. Compiles and organizes testing results into actionable reports for a variety of user personas. Provides subject matter expertise on accessible technology to PCC staff and faculty across the District. Assists faculty in the use of material and equipment to ensure proper usage and compliance with access laws. Works to expand program materials and services. Researches new alternative media technologies and makes recommendations to the college community. Performs gap analyses and analyzes course media to be presented, and researches viable formats currently available. Reviews and evaluates claims made in Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPAT) for technology under consideration. Coordinates with PCC staff and vendors to gather accessibility documentation, and provide access and use case information for tech reviewers. Assigns and reviews the work of classified, casual, and student employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in CIS, Education, or related. The degree requirement may be substituted with experience on a year for year basis.
  • Three years of experience creating, adapting, and/or coordinating the adaptation of a variety of media used in the accommodation of students with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of: Applicable Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, codes, and statues including but not limited to as Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act; Web Accessibility Initiative – Accessible Rich Internet Applications (WAI-ARIA) HTML5, CSS, JavaScript; Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG); Current laws regarding media accessibility and copyright; Project management principles; Business application consulting and development.
  • Skills in: Analyzing and resolving problems with minimal supervision; Evaluating accessibility using a variety of tools and manual testing; Providing feedback to developers and designers; Leading collaborative work groups involving multiple stakeholder groups; Leading collaborative projects across departments; Resolving conflict; Investigating complaints.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to analyze Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPATs) and ACRs, with a focus on translating technical data into functional implications for end users.
  • Assistive Technology Proficiency: Hands-on experience operating a variety of assistive technologies (such as screen readers or magnification software) to conduct end-user testing.
  • Technical Reporting: Track record of authoring accessibility audits or technical evaluation reports that provide actionable feedback to developers and represent the end user (students, faculty, staff).
  • Strategic Collaboration: Demonstrated success in partnering with vendors and navigating complex organizational landscapes to build consensus.
