About The Position

Responsible for performing technical responsibilities relative to assisting cardiothoracic surgeons with the instrumentation of Open-Heart surgery, as well as assisting in the preparation and management of tubing’s utilized by the heart-lung (pump) machine.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a surgical tech program accredited by a national accrediting organization or a training program administered by the US Public Health Service or military.
• Minimum of two (2) years scrubbing experience in a major operating room.
• At least one (1) year of experience as an Open-Heart Scrub Technician.
• Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or must obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Current BLS certification.
