POSITION PURPOSE: To assist in the direct care and management of children, adolescents, and adults. Provide direct supervision, safety and crisis management for patient population.
Requirements
- Good verbal and written skills, ability to rotate shifts as necessary, ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Must consistently exhibit mental and emotional ability to understand and perform the essential functions of the job.
- Provides behavioral management using hospital approved methods.
- Supervises patients at all times to maintain safety.
- High School diploma or GED; Attendance in an accredited college and/or university
- Current Texas driver's license with good driving record, CPR/CPI certification.
- One year of experience as a Mental Health Worker or related field or enrollment in or a graduate of a professional program (LVN, RN, licensed therapist).
Responsibilities
- Provides direct supervision of patients/guests waiting with patients.
- Maintain safety within the milieu by constantly monitoring patients/guests for potentially unsafe behaviors.
- Prevent and manage crisis situations.
- Role model appropriate behaviors, attitudes, social skills and self-care.
- Completes all documentation as required.
- Adheres to facility policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned
