About The Position

ByteDance is seeking a Distributed Storage System Software Engineer to design and develop next-generation distributed storage solutions. In this role, you will contribute to the development of large-scale, high-performance storage systems that support critical business needs across Data Platforms, Advertising, Machine Learning, and Large Language Models (LLMs). Our team is re-architecting HDFS in C++ to enhance its performance and scalability, making it a key infrastructure component in Big Data storage. If you have a strong technical foundation in distributed storage systems and experience building large-scale storage solutions, we'd love to hear from you!

Requirements

• 5 years of experience in system software engineering for large-scale production environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of distributed storage systems and their performance, availability, and reliability considerations.
• Proficiency in C++ and/or Python, Golang for system-level development.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in Big Data storage systems and architectures.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
